Creatine Monohydrate is produced via a chemical synthesis route. The synthesis is done by reacting sarcosine sodium salt with cyanamide under heated conditions. Sarcosine sodium salt is a derivative of acetic acid. Cyanamide is an organic amide. When the process is complete, the sodium salt is rinsed away and the finished product is then redried. This critical step insures there is no residual sodium common to incomplete processing.
